Question #2:

AT&T versus Sprint? Spring better?

Okay so i just ordered a service plan from AT&T for my message phone few months ago, includes 450min Rollover mins and Unlimited Texting, which adds up to $60/month ($70/mon with tax),

But today i saw an advertisement from Sprint, saying they have Unlimited Talk, Texting, and Web, PLUS free GPS Navigation for only $69.99

SO Im wondering, why do AT&T charge so much when Sprint charges the same but with Unlimited Everything??!!

also should i switch to Sprint just because of that?

Thanks!

Question #3:

Question #4:

Does this sound any good so far?

I know peer criticism is the best thing for an aspiring author so please read this:

I threw up. Right over the side rail of the ferry. For like the fourth time. I hate boats; I want nothing to do with them. The cold gray sky helped nothing either. It made the ocean look like cold, gray steel. Why couldn’t there be a bridge to Big Fish Island? And as for that matter, why couldn’t I have just stayed Boston with all of my friends? I turned back to my mom who was sitting on a bench in the middle of the ferry.
“How much longer?” I groaned, grabbing some paper towels given to me by the smart captain.
“About ten more minutes. Come sit. Or, if you want you can go inside again.”
“No, no. Fresh air makes it better,” but went to into the small cabin anyway. I needed more paper towels for the next time I threw up.
The little cabin was sparsely furnished with a few a couple of crosses hanging on the walls, a couple bags of chips and crackers, and of course the paper towels. I grabbed some and wiped the corners of my mouth, eyeing the chips hungrily. I was so hungry after emptying my stomach about four times, but I knew as soon as I ate those Lays they would come right back out again where maybe some disgusting fish would eat them.
The front part of the cabin, the side that faced the front of the boat, also served as the navigation room for the captain. It sounds fancy, but what it really was, was a beaten up looking GPS, a crude sonar system, and a very picturesque wooden steering wheel. A helm, I think it was called. The captain was standing at the wheel, looking out towards the ocean.
He turned and watched me with yellow-ish, drooping eyes. He has a beard that was about seventy-five percent silver, but still with a fair amount of black. His hair was the same, not quite all the way gray, but still showing signs of age. His face had deep lines and creases, but seemed resilient instead of weary. He wore tall black galoshes, dirty jeans, a worn, red flannel shirt and a matching pair of a yellow raincoat and a waterproof yellow hat. He could have been 42, but he also could have been 69. Whatever he was, talkative he wasn’t, for he had hardly said a word the whole wretched journey.

Question #10:

Portable auto GPS systems with MP3 playback included: Any good?

I'm getting (actually just bought, but am taking back) a portable GPS navigator for my car. Just bought the Garmin Nuvi 205W after looking through several reviews. I don't need anything extremely fancy but now I'm realizing it doesn't have speaking directions, which I need. Anyway, having MP3 playback capability isn't a necessity for me but now I'm re-thinking it again since I'm getting a different navigator. I'm headed in the direction of the TomTom GO 630 right now and apparently it has MP3 capability. I just wanted to know when dealing with the MP3 part of the navigation system, how does it sound when it goes through your car speaker? And is it hard to hook up? Will it sound exactly like your car's CD player?

Question #14:

The battery on my Samsung Moment is getting killed by the Apps?

My question is has more to do with why the apps are even open to begin with, I downloaded Advance Task Killer and every so often when I pull up the running tasks, I'll have apps that I haven't even opened ie: GPS navigation, NFL mobile, CNET app.... any one know why the hell this is happening and if there is a fix other than just killing all the tasks.

Question #15:

Which GPS navigation brand is the most up to date in your opinion?

Question #16:

Why am I being charged for data for my bluetooth GPS module?

Hi,
I am using a Nokia E63 on Optus (ergh) $19 cap with $15 unlimited SMS/MMS within Australia.
I have downloaded the NEW Nokia Maps using my computer, and used Nokia Map Loader to load maps on. As the E63 doesn't have built-in GPS, I bought the Nokia LD-4W bluetooth GPS receiver to connect with my phone/Nokia Maps so that I can get turn-by-turn drive navigation etc. for free.
With my maps downloaded, and with the bluetooth GPS module, this whole process SHOULD be free. I tried it out yesterday, and I looked at "My Usage" on optus.com today, and it has charged me for "Internet" (which I presume means data charges) at the times I used my phone with the GPS module as a satnav.
Optus was absolutely no help, I spoke to someone who doesn't speak english and we couldn't understand each other.
It has charged me between 3 and 10 cents for each time I used it (it was only briefly, I was trying it out when I went to the supermarket etc.)
I have gone into all the possible connections settings in the phone, and I did find under Menu>Tools>GPS data>Options>Positioning settings, that I had both "Bluetooth GPS" and "Network based" checked (they are the two options listed there). I unchecked "Network based".
Do you think this will stop them charging me? Why are they charging me, if there is no internet connection or anything? (Or at least there won't be now, if I don't allow the phone to use Optus internet in the GPS process?)
Please help!
Do you think those 3-10 cent charges were for GPS poisitioning using the Optus internet? And that now that I've disabled that, it shouldn't charge me?
I have used Maps Uploader on my computer to download the complete maps and to put them on my phone. So I shouldn't be charged for downloading maps again--I already have them!
And I can get a bird's-eye route from A to B without the GPS (as in, my existing maps can give some directions without gps/internet/data, so I don't think it needs the GPS to download directions).
I just got the GPS so I could get turn-by-turn direction for driving.

Question #17:

Nokia 6700 Classic......?

Hows the battery life on this phone and does the satellite navigation (gps) work well? thanks

Question #18:

How to read these GPS coordinates?

I am using a Magellan Explorist 210 for navigation across an expanse of water. However I am a complete noobie right now and I am having trouble understanding the coordinates it gives me. The numbers that appear on the screen: 34 degrees 06.583N and 117 degrees 49.518W. What does this mean? I know that 34 is latitude and 117 is longitude, and i can find that on a map, but what is the other stuff? If it is minutes and seconds how do I apply time to a map? Can I rearrange it so i can just get simply my exact position of latitude like 37.6922. It seems like just saying I am at 34 degrees latitude is pretty vague for a GPS.
so could I express 117 49.518 as 117.8253?

Question #20:

Lost cell phone can't use GPS or Ping?

I lost my cell phone today. It's a Samsung Rogue. I called Verizon and they said there is no way they can track it or anything. If it's on still isn't doesn't it constantly ping towers in a triangle? I mean couldn't they just see the general location of it? I was always under the impression that a cell phone while on was always pinging towers. If they can't find it from GPS how does my navigation work?
